On
the morning of September 5, 2022, Bao Feng, member of the Party Committee,
Director of Publicity Department and Director of Research Department of Xi'an University,
Gao Tianpeng, Dean of College of Biology and Environmental Engineering, Zhang
Jiudong, Vice Dean of College of Biology and Environmental Engineering, and
Yang Jianjun, representative of teachers, went to Xi'an Bureau of Ecology and
Environment to have a discussion with Shen Binggang, Secretary of the Party
Committee and Director of Xi'an Bureau of Ecology and Environment, Li Bo,
Deputy Secretary and Deputy Director, Wan Xuejun, Director of Comprehensive
Department, and Wen Limin, Deputy Director, about the works of the Academy of
Eco Xi'an since its establishment.
First
of all, President Gao reported the work to the major leaders of Xi'an Bureau of
Ecology and Environment on behalf of the Academy of Eco Xi'an since its
establishment two months ago, with the active cooperation of the comprehensive
office of the Bureau, the Academy has implemented basic work such as office,
making plaques, Logo and website construction and carried out academic
exchanges, and also reported the work plan for the fourth quarter. Deputy
Secretary Li Bo affirmed the preliminary work of the Academy of Eco Xi'an and
said that Xi'an University is the only one municipally owned university in
Xi'an and it is the first right to support the development of Xi'an University.
It is hoped that the Academy of Eco Xi'an will rely on the Xi'an University and
the Xi'an Bureau of Ecology and Environment, invite a team of excellent experts
from home and abroad, make up for the shortcomings, lay a good foundation,
select a breakthrough direction, and carry out special research on the air
environment quality of Xi'an; should pay attention not only to short-term work,
but also to long-term work. He hoped to continuously enhance the influence of
the Academy of Eco Xi'an and Xi'an University, and put forward suggestions for effectively
improving the air environment quality of Xi'an. Finally, President Shen
emphasized that the establishment of the Academy of Eco Xi'an is certainly a
good thing, expressed strong support for the work to be carried out by the
Academy of Eco Xi'an, and suggested to actively strengthen connections with
various departments and branches of the Xi'an Bureau of Ecology and
Environment. At the same time, it is suggested that the Academy of Eco Xi'an
should invite famous experts from universities and scientific research
institutes actively for solving the important problems jointly in air pollution
of Xi'an so as to provide decision making on ecological environmental protection
and continuous improvement of air environment quality in Xi'an. It is hoped
that both parties should set up a work timetable to be carried out each year gradually
and deeply, expand the influence of the Academy of Eco Xi'an to provide advice
and suggestions for the development of ecological environmental protection in
Xi'an.
