受疫情影响，第五届环境与地球科学国际学术研讨会（IWEG2022）于2022年7月16-17日通过腾讯会议成功召开，本次会议由兰州城市学院承办，由西安文理学院和甘肃省矿区污染治理与生态修复工程研究中心协办。
会议议程分为3个部分：主题演讲、口头报告和海报展示。来自河南大学的陈友民教授，西安文理学院生物与环境工程学院院长、甘肃省矿区污染治理与生态修复工程研究中心主任、生态西安研究院院长、兰州城市学院特聘教授高天鹏教授，澳大利亚的斯威本科技大学的Monzur Alam Imteaz副教授等7位专家学者分别就相关领域作了主题报告。现场气氛活跃，学术氛围浓厚。
